The Warren Washington Research and Leadership Medal is presented to individuals who are recognized for the combination of highly significant research and distinguished scientific leadership in the atmospheric and related sciences.
Requirements
- Citation (25 word maximum)
- Bibliography (3 page maximum)
- Nomination letter (3 page maximum)
- Nominee Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum)
- Three (3) letters of support (2 page maximum each)
Nominations are considered by a committee comprised of two members each from the Atmospheric, Hydrologic, and Oceanographic Research Awards Committees, which makes a recommendation for final approval by AMS Council.
Nominees for the Washington Medal remain on the review committee's active list for three years. Nominators are allowed to update an unsuccessful nomination at the beginning of the next award cycle.
