Short Course Proposals
Description

Please log in through the above applicants login link to start your application. If you have completed an application for another program in the past, you may need to search for 'Short Course Proposal' Program under All Programs to start your application.

AMS welcomes short course proposals on a variety of subjects that would be of interest to the weather, water, and climate community. Prior course topics include machine learning, consulting meteorology, forensic meteorology, catastrophe modeling, artificial intelligence applications, to name a few. Short course attendees range from undergraduate students to seasoned professionals so organizers have the option to choose topics for a specific audience. All submitted short course proposals are reviewed by the AMS Board on Continuing Professional Development (BCPD).

Short courses are intended to be available to all attendees. Proposals are accepted on a variety of topics and will incur a registration fee. Registration fees may be reduced if organizers obtain sponsorship.

If your submission is a training/workshop for employees or clients of your organization or students at your university, please contact the Meetings Department (meetings@ametsoc.org) for options as these types of submissions are not suitable as AMS Short Courses.
