Annual Meeting Faculty Travel Grant
Opens Oct 30 2023 12:00 AM (EDT)
Deadline Dec 15 2023 11:59 PM (EST)
Description

The AMS is pleased to offer travel grants for faculty from Emerging Research Institution (ERIs) or Minority Serving Institution (MSIs). These grants are being funded by generous support from the National Science Foundation. The AMS Annual Meeting is the world’s largest yearly gathering for the weather, water, and climate community. AMS brings together atmospheric scientists, professionals, students, authors, educators, researchers and weather enthusiasts from around the world to share and collaborate ideas about research. AMS meetings and conferences foster great minds from a diverse set of scientific disciplines - helping attendees make career-long professional contact and life-long friends while learning from the very top people in the weather, water, and climate community.

We invite applications from faculty at all career stages who can identify how participating in the AMS Annual Meeting will benefit their research, teaching, or departmental leadership and who would not be able to attend without this support. The AMS Faculty Travel Grant Program will cover conference registration, airfare, lodging, plus an allowance for meals. You do not need to be an AMS member to apply, but you will need to create an AMS profile. The application period has been extended to 15 December 2023. Any questions about the Faculty Travel Grant Program should be directed to Stephanie Armstrong, AMS Associate Executive Director at sarmstrong@ametsoc.org.

Applicants must be employed full-time by a U.S. academic institution.
