AMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science
The American Meteorological Society (AMS) is pleased to invite applications for the AMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science, to be awarded to a student in the process of completing a dissertation in the history of the atmospheric and related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. The Fellowship carries a $15,000 stipend and will support one year of dissertation research. Fellowships cannot be deferred and must be used for the year awarded, but can be used to support research at a location away from the student's institution, provided the plan is approved by the student's thesis advisor. AMS does not prepare written evaluations of either successful or unsuccessful candidates.
The fellowship will support free membership during the year awarded. The recipient of this fellowship will be invited to the AMS Annual Meeting, following the year awarded, and is required to present research at the History Symposium during the annual meeting. Abstract submission fee will be waived.
