Description

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) First-Year Undergraduate Scholarships help support the college educations of students who intend to pursue careers in the atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. Students who will be entering their freshman year of college in the fall are eligible to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status

AMS does not prepare written evaluations of either successful or unsuccessful candidates

What you should know:

  • Encrypted or secured documents must be converted and saved as an unsecured version in order to upload. Otherwise, submit the document by email to galegado@ametsoc.org.

  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, guidance counselor, or professional reference (one only). Recommendation letters from family members are not permitted. 

  • Complete a Customer Support request by going to the help section "contact support" (i) in the upper right hand corner of your screen for assistance with technical issue.

Note: Applicants are responsible for completing their application before the submission deadline.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
