AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grant Application
Opens Aug 16 2019 12:00 AM (EDT)
Deadline Oct 4 2019 11:59 PM (EDT)
Description

AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grants afford an outstanding opportunity for students interested in attending the world’s largest yearly gathering for the weather, water, and climate community. The Society recognizes the considerable benefit that students can gain from attending even if they are not presenting a paper.  AMS wants to encourage interactions among students, their peers, and professionals in the field. Travel grants will be awarded to students who are not presenting a paper at a professional conference session during the annual meeting.  Take note that presenting at the weekend AMS Annual Student Conference does not fall under this rule.

What you should know:

  • The annual meeting grant program is available to AMS student members and members with student privileges who are currently in their last undergraduate year or who are graduate students.
  • A student can receive no more than one travel grant award per calendar year; this includes the AMS Specialty Conference Travel Grant Program.  i.e., a student applies for a travel grant to attend the AMS annual meeting and receives an award, that student is not eligible to apply for a specialty conference travel grant within that same calendar year.
  • Be sure to click "submit application", after answering and reviewing all questions, in order for your application to move from the Application stage to the Manager Review stage for consideration.
