AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grant Application
Opens Sep 24 2020 12:00 AM (EDT)
Deadline Dec 18 2020 11:59 PM (EST)
Description

Share, learn, and collaborate at the virtual AMS  Annual Meeting!

The AMS Virtual Student Travel Grant offers complimentary registration to the 101st AMS Virtual Annual Meeting!

All oral and poster sessions, panel discussions, and exhibits will be in virtual format. We will also plan on having virtual networking opportunities and short courses available.

The theme of the 101st Annual Meeting is “Strengthening Engagement with Communities through our Science and Services.” We are looking forward to leading the AMS into its next century by being adaptable and innovative.

AMS recognizes the considerable benefit that students can gain from attending conferences and wants to encourage interactions between students and other conference attendees even if they are not presenting a paper.  AMS is delighted that we are able to offer this program even during these unprecedented times.  We feel the virtual platform will allow us to attract many new attendees and organizations and allow for a higher level of inclusiveness than we have had in the past. To this end, the travel grant program is opened to active AMS members who are senior undergraduate or graduate students not presenting at the meeting.

Restrictions

  • Available to 2020 active AMS student members or members with student privileges who are senior undergraduate or graduate students.
  • Only non-presenters are eligible (presenting at the student conference is okay)
  • A student can receive no more than one travel grant award per calendar year; this includes a grant awarded by the AMS Specialty Conference Travel Grant Program.

Deadline date: December 18, 2020
